Sales Strategy
When projecting your business you
want to have a professional, unique attitude toward your
customers and suppliers. You also want to have a sales strategy
that maximizes your closing rate on sales calls and emails. You
want to show your customers that you are different and give them
a unique, positive experience that they will tell their friends
and colleagues about.
Sales take a general model and that
model revolves around building rapport and trust. You can follow
the model below to increase your sales ability.

Simple things, such as how you
answer your phone, can make or break your business. Your
attitude also directly affects how well you will be able to
close sales. If you are positive and smile while talking you
will get much more positive feedback than if you are pissed off
at the world.
When you answer the phone try using this
phrase every time:
“It’s a great day at Your Company
Name, how can I help you?”
This simple line will
positively influence your customer. It also builds rapport and
the customer will be impressed. This is also unique. Customers
are almost expecting to receive subpar customer service when
calling a company. This is because many customers provide subpar
customer service. Don’t be a subpar company, be a phenomenal
company and go the extra mile for your customers and they will
pay you appropriately for the extra service.
When
answering emails from customers and suppliers always format the
email like the following:
Dear Recipient Name,
Body of
email. Do not make any grammatical or spelling errors. Use your
spell checker!
Sincerely,
Your Name
Your Company Name
Phone
Web Address
We suggest you use Microsoft Outlook
for your emails. You can also use the free program that comes
with Windows. For Windows XP it will be Outlook Express and for
Windows Vista it will be Windows Mail.
You can setup
signature within your email program so you do not have to type
your signature every time. The program will fill it in
automatically for you.
Trial and error will help you
refine your customer service skills. If you have never provided
customer service you will learn very quickly that there is
really nothing to it. Simply be courteous and understanding.
Always keep your cool and remember that the customer may not
always be right, but you have to give them the impression that
they are. That doesn’t mean screwing anyone over, it simply
means be understanding and be firm with your policies and rules.
You are almost ready to go live with your business! In the next section we will define the systems of your business and setup roles of what you will be doing daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly.
