Finding the Best Suppliers - Keys to Success

When it comes to finding quality dropshippers for your internet business there are plenty of routes you can take. But first, how do you judge a quality dropshipper? You know your supplier is right for you when they provide phenomenal customer service, expedient tracking updates and always have products in stock.

Deciding on a supplier for your dropshipped products that doesn't provide all of these is sure to cause you grief on the customer service end of your business. Most of the time your customer will not be aware that the product you are selling to them are being dropshipped so if any problems arise the blame is on you whether you caused the problem or not. So how do you source these quality dropshippers and avoid all the headaches?

  • Call the manufacturer of the products directly.  You would be surprised how many internet business owners do not do this.  Many times the manufacturer will ship single item quantities for you at much better rates than a wholesaler will.  Getting in contact with the supplier first can potentially save you thousands of dollars per year by cutting out the middle man.  Of course you will still have to ensure that manufacturer will provide quality customer service and be expedient with the dropshipped orders.
  • If you are not able to source the products from the manufacturer you can simply ask for a list of wholesalers that they currently work with.  The manufacturer will be more than happy to help you.  Honest dropshippers, such as wholesalers, many times provide even better customer service than the manufacturers.
Once you have sourced out your dropshipped products it is time to put them through the wringer and give them the honesty and integrity test.  The last thing you want happening is a company not delivering products on time to your customers.  The simplest way to do this is to ask for references from customers that the dropshipper already does business with.  You should ask the supplier which businesses they already dropship for and try to get at least three references.

After you have collected the references it is time to plan a call to these companies.  Your goal is to get in contact with a manager or higher up, preferably someone that oversees the customer service of the business.  You don't have to tell the person that you will be in competition with them, you can simply mention you were looking for suppliers for your small business and want to make sure they are honest and reputable.

The person will most likely be willing to share their opinion with you.  If you receive quality feedback from the references you can be almost 100 percent sure you have found an honest dropshipper.  If you receive less than pleasing feedback you might want to call the supplier back and ask for more references.

Sourcing dropship suppliers takes some time and effort but this simple method will surely save you thousands of dollars and ensure your products arrive to your customers in a timely manner.  Finding an honest dropshipper is vital to the success of your business and something you need to invest your time into if you want your business to succeed.
