When I started my first online company in 1999
the e-commerce outlook looked bright. Well then we had the
technology crash and people started to become skeptical of the

My first venture was a fitness related site
selling books, dvds and software to people interested in
becoming fit. Since I had some knowledge of exercise science I
created a nice informational section on my site and decided to
offer products for sale. I didn't buy a dropship list or any
thing like that to source my products and suppliers. I simply
picked up the phone and started calling publishing companies
that focused on fitness and exercise science.
I was able
to line out all of my suppliers and products in less than one
week without spending a dime. I added thousands of products to
my site, one by one. It took forever but was well worth it.
Luckily today we have powerful ecommerce software to help us
manage our entire companies with ease.
I held on to this
site for about six years and decided to sell the business to
move on to a different niche. I made over 2 million dollars in
those six years, not including the sale of the business. I put
in a lot of effort to the site. I think my success in that first
venture opened my eyes to the power of the internet and created
a passion that lasts to this day.
Since then I have
started and continue to own seven highly successful ecommerce
sites. I could easily hold inventory, but why? I may get a
better deal on product costs, but the human capital and
warehouse space could easily offset that.
I now focus my
time on teaching others how to create phenomenally successful
ecommerce websites. I truly enjoy seeing a person achieving
success.

and I suggest you utilize dropshipping as a method to sell your
products. Why not just hold inventory? You definitely can, but
